Back to the Pool

Finally got back to the pool today after a 9 day hiatus. 4 x 500 just easy swimming.  Was able to squeeze in my 3 mile interval run on treadmill this morning before the highlight of the day, Skatetown USA.  The roller rink was in full effect with free skating today.
Yesterday was one of those days for the record books.  I couldn't have asked for a better day to run.  About 48 degrees and sunny when we headed off onto the trails.  Had my dog in tow which turned out to be a mistake because he was in no mood to run fast.  Did about 3 miles on the trails then bailed onto the streets for the final 4 miles.
Still using my Amphipod hand held bottle and have to say that I love it.  Could not get used to any of the waist belts, and as hand helds go, it is by far the most comfortable in the hand. Thanks Amphipod!
Headed to Richmond tomorrow to visit family and make a crucial stop at one of my favorite places, Trader Joe's.  We will definitely be stocking up on a few items.   Promised B a swim at the pool tomorrow night, so that should finish out my pool time for the week seeing as how AFC is closed til Monday.

Christmas Training?

Seems as though all has come to a complete stop training wise, but for good reason.  Spent great time with all the family the past few days.  Staying in tune with what Christmas is all about in this day and age is difficult.  I am constantly reminding myself that I should be forever greatful to God for sending Jesus here to save us from oursleves.   I hope to be able to teach my kids to view things the same way.  Nobody ever said that was going to be easy.

Got to do some ice skating at the Main Street Arena (aka Charlottesville Ice Park) today with my 2 kids B and P and my beautiful wife and have settled in for a couple of movies tonight.  Decided to bag the 5 miler on my schedule for today.  Will fit in both runs tomorrow (hopefully). Enjoy your holiday season, whatever you celebrate.

Urinary Frequency

My dog has spent the last 3 hours going to the bathroom a record 12 times (only one of those was number 2).   He went crazy with the water and we have been putting water in his food because he eats better that way.  This is our first dog ever, so guess we will throttle back on the water.

I am in week 3 in training for the Charlottesville Marathon (my first full marathon).  Had a 7 mile run today through campus and alon West Main, while kids were at swim practice.  My biggest concern right now is that I can do the training without injury.  I guess we shall see.
